DNA Probe for Lactobacillus delbrueckii.
From a genomic DNA library of Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus, a clone was isolated which complements a leucine auxotrophy of an Escherichia coli strain (GE891). Subsequent analysis of the clone indicated that it could serve as a specific DNA probe. Dot-blot hybridizations with over 40 different Lactobacillus strains showed that this clone specifically recognizes L. delbrueckii subs...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequences of Lactobacillus curvatus KG6, L. curvatus MRS6, and Lactobacillus sakei FAM18311, Isolated from Fermented Meat Products
The genomes of Lactobacillus curvatus KG6, L. curvatus MRS6, and Lactobacillus sakei FAM18311 were sequenced and assembled using PacBio single-molecule real-time (SMRT) technology. The strains were isolated from Swiss fermented meat products. Circular chromosomes were of 1.98 Mbp (KG6), 2.11 Mbp (MRS6), and 1.95 Mbp (FAM18311), with a G+C content of 41.3 to 42.0%.
متن کاملLactobacillus curvatus subsp. melibiosus is a later synonym of Lactobacillus sakei subsp. carnosus.
On the basis of phenotypic and DNA-DNA reassociation studies, strain CCUG 34545T has been considered to represent a distinct Lactobacillus curvatus subspecies, Lactobacillus curvatus subsp. melibiosus. However, in several independent studies dealing with Lactobacillus sakei and L. curvatus strains, the subspecies division of L. curvatus has been found to be controversial. The original study dis...
متن کاملGenome sequence of the bacteriocin-producing Lactobacillus curvatus strain CRL705.
Lactobacillus curvatus is one of the most prevalent lactic acid bacteria found in fermented meat products. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus curvatus CRL705, a bacteriocin producer strain isolated from an Argentinean artisanal fermented sausage, which consists of 1,833,251 bp (GC content, 41.9%) and two circular plasmids of 12,342 bp (pRC12; GC, 43.9%) and 18,664 bp (p...
متن کاملHydrolysis of pork muscle sarcoplasmic proteins by lactobacillus curvatus and lactobacillus sake.
Lactobacillus curvatus CECT 904 and Lactobacillus sake CECT 4808 were selected on the basis of their proteolytic activities against synthetic substrates. Further, the effects of whole cells, cell extracts, and a combination of both enzymatic sources on muscle sarcoplasmic proteins were determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and reverse-phase high-performance liq...
